Federal — Civilian (CIV) — auto-populated agency directory
Federal — Civilian (CIV) is the Turtini-maintained directory of civilian federal agencies, departments, and bureaus. Counterpart to the DoD / NAPS directory.
What's populated:
• Cabinet departments and major agencies (State, Treasury, Justice, Interior, Agriculture, Commerce, Labor, HHS, HUD, DOT, Energy, Education, VA, DHS)
• Independent agencies (NASA, GSA, EPA, NSF, NRC, FTC, FCC, SEC, etc.)
• Smaller commissions, boards, and advisory bodies (USAID, Smithsonian, NEH, NEA, etc.)
• Major bureau and operating-component breakdown where addressable (e.g. NIH institutes, USDA agencies, DOJ components)
How it stays current:
Same as the DoD directory — Turtini's federal data team maintains the source data. New components and reorganizations propagate within ~30 days of public notice.
Practical use:
• Click any agency to convert into a CRM Account. The canonical info (name, address, primary website, NAICS, key procurement codes) populates — you add the relationship metadata.
• Find a contracting office: drill from agency → bureau → procurement organization. Most CIV agencies have a discrete contracting office that's the practical buyer.
• Filter by category (R&D, services, facilities, IT, scientific instruments) to scope your pipeline.
Who can enable:
Government orgs and Turtini platform admins. Commercial orgs cannot turn this on.
Tip:
The strongest CRM use of these directories is converting them into Accounts only for agencies you actually pursue, not the entire federal directory at once. Pull in the 10-20 agencies that match your NAICS and scale from there.
