Family Office — multiple families, one roof, nothing copied

Family Office is the org-side surface for a firm managing more than one family's wealth. It is the counterpart to the personal Wealth module: each family keeps and owns their own net-worth picture, and grants your office a live, read-only view of it. You never hold a copy you have to reconcile.

How a family becomes your client:

Each family is a client in a households list. A family grants your office access from their side — personal Wealth (/me/wealth) -> Sharing tab. The moment they grant it, their net worth appears in your Family Office; the moment they revoke it, it's gone. You cannot add a family to your book without their grant.

What you see per family:

For each family that granted access, you get an aggregated holdings view — cash, investments, real estate, businesses — assembled server-side from the family's own live data. Because it is assembled from their live numbers, it is always current; there is no quarterly import to run.

Cross-family reporting:

Across every family that granted you access, you get total assets under advisement — one number for the whole book, rolled up from live data rather than a spreadsheet you maintain by hand.

Permission, not possession:

Three things are always true, and they are the point of the module: you only ever see what each family granted; every read is logged on the family's side; and any family can revoke instantly. Nothing is copied into your org — the wealth stays owned by the family, and you hold a permissioned, revocable view. That is the "permissions over copies" model applied to a wealth practice.
