Set up your emergency medical profile

Your emergency medical profile is the short, life-saving summary a responder sees if you can't speak for yourself. It lives with your account forever and follows you everywhere — no app to install, no card to carry.

To set it up:

1. Go to Personal safety (/me/safety) and find the Emergency medical section.
2. Fill in the essentials a responder needs in the first five seconds: blood type, primary language, allergies, conditions, current medications, and any implants or devices (pacemaker, insulin pump).
3. Set your advance directive (DNR, organ donor) if you have one.
4. Add your date of birth and insurance member ID — these are stored privately and only ever shown to a responder during a real emergency access.
5. Name your primary doctor (PCP) and their email. This is who your care gets looped back to after an emergency.
6. Save.

Tip: use "Pull from my chart" to fill your allergies, conditions, and medications straight from your Wellness record, then trim it to just what matters in an emergency.

Your profile is only the emergency summary — never your full medical history. A responder can never see your full chart through emergency access.
