How long a custom domain takes to go live
Once you connect a domain to a site, Builder -> Domains shows a live status for it that updates on its own. The whole process is automatic and usually finishes within a few minutes — you don't need to do anything while it runs.
The status pill tells you where the domain is:
• Provisioning (or Connecting) — setup is in progress.
• Live — the domain is serving your site over HTTPS.
• Needs attention — something needs a look; the timeline shows which step.
The timeline walks four steps in order:
1. DNS — the proxied record for your hostname is created in Cloudflare.
2. Mapping — the hostname is routed to your Turtini site.
3. Verify — Google confirms domain ownership for the certificate. This is the step that usually takes the longest.
4. Live — the domain is fully wired and serving your site.
SSL is automatic. You never upload or renew a certificate — the HTTPS certificate is issued as part of provisioning and stays renewed for as long as the domain is connected. It's typically ready under a minute after the mapping finishes.
If a domain sits on "Needs attention" for a while, it's usually the verification step catching up — give it a few minutes and refresh. If it stays stuck, disconnect the site and reconnect it, or reach out to support.
