Inserting slides from your live data + Refresh from source
Decks can pull live data straight out of your Turtini modules — turning a project, a runbook, a top account, or an opportunity into a ready-made slide that stays in sync with the source.
To insert sourced slides:
1. Open the deck you're editing
2. Click Insert from module… in the top toolbar
3. Pick the module — Planning, Runbooks, Accounts, Opportunities, Restaurants (more rolling out)
4. Pick the specific record (e.g. the project, the account, the runbook)
5. Pick a layout — Overview, KPIs, Phase breakdown, Risks, Milestones, etc. (varies by module)
6. Click Insert — the layout renders into one or more slides at the cursor position in the deck
Each generated slide carries an invisible source pointer (sourceModule + sourceRunId) so the deck remembers where the data came from.
Refresh from source:
• Click Refresh from source in the top toolbar (or right-click a sourced slide and pick Refresh)
• Every sourced slide re-pulls the latest data and re-renders — phase budgets update, milestone dates update, the at-risk count updates
• Slides you inserted manually (no source pointer) are untouched
• Refresh is non-destructive — your manual edits to a sourced slide are preserved as overlay layers; the underlying data layer is what re-renders
Detaching from source: if you want a sourced slide to stop updating, right-click it and pick Detach from source. The slide becomes a frozen snapshot from that moment.
Use case: build a quarterly business review deck once with sourced slides for every project's status. Each Monday before your QBR, click Refresh from source — the whole deck repaints with the current week's numbers.
