Set up your cap table: instruments and issuing shares

Cap Table tracks who owns what in your company — every share class, option grant, and note, with live ownership percentages.

Start with an instrument (a share class or security):
1. Open /cap-table and go to the Instruments tab.
2. Press New instrument.
3. Name it, pick the type (Common, Preferred, an option grant, RSU, SAFE, Convertible Note, or Warrant), and set the authorized amount.
4. Press Create.

Then issue shares to a holder:
1. Go to the Cap Table tab and press Issue shares (it's available once at least one instrument exists).
2. Choose the instrument, enter the holder's email and the quantity, and optionally the price per share.
3. Press Issue.

The Cap Table tab updates its ownership snapshot and the stat tiles (fully diluted, outstanding, authorized, holders) immediately, and the new holder appears with their fully-diluted percentage. The Holders tab is the roll-up view of everyone on the table.
