Per-block style: backgrounds, gradients, padding, radius, shadow
Every block has its own style panel. Click any block to expand its inspector, then look for "Style" near the bottom — it auto-expands when the block already has style applied.
Background options:
• Transparent — inherits the page or template background
• Solid color — pick any hex via the color picker
• Gradient — two-stop linear gradient with an angle slider + live preview
• Image — paste a URL or upload from your photo library; choose Cover / Contain / Tile + optional overlay tint
• Video — paste an MP4 URL; loops + auto-plays muted; supports an overlay tint for legibility
Layout knobs:
• Padding — Compact / Cozy / Roomy / Spacious
• Corners — Square / Soft / Rounded / Pill
• Shadow — None / Soft / Lifted / Dramatic
Why per-block instead of per-page:
You usually only want ONE styled block per page (the hero). Per-block style means you can paint your hero with a brand gradient and leave the rest of the page clean — the publish-health check will warn you if you overdo it.
Quick presets:
Below the per-field controls, the "Quick styles" pills (Bold / Soft / Punchy / Elevated / Calm) apply curated combinations in one click. The presets derive shades from your brand color so they always feel on-brand. Click any preset, then refine in the panel — or hit Reset to clear everything and start fresh.
Tip:
The block can also be restyled by asking Wally ("make this hero feel more dramatic"). See the article on Wally co-author tools.
