Recent Articles block — Hide past events

The Recent Articles block has an "Event date handling" option that controls how event-typed articles with past dates appear in the list.

Where:
Editor → Recent Articles block → Event date handling

Three modes:
• Show all (default) — every published article appears, regardless of event dates. This is the legacy behavior.
• Hide past events — articles whose type is "Event"/"Events" are filtered out once the latest event date has passed. Articles WITHOUT event dates (your normal posts) are always shown.
• Show only past events (archive) — flips the logic; only event articles whose date has passed appear. Useful for an event archive page.

How "past" is decided:
For each article, the latest end date (or start, if no end) of any event date entry. Once the entire latest entry is in the past (with a 12-hour grace window so a finishing event doesn't disappear mid-day), the article is filtered.

Mixed feeds work:
The filter is event-aware. A blog page that mixes Press Releases, Recaps, and Events on the same Recent Articles block will show all the Press Releases + Recaps even when "Hide past events" is on — only the past Events get filtered.

Tip: Use "Hide past events" on your homepage Recent Articles block so the latest list stays fresh. Use a separate "Show only past events" block on a /past-events archive page if you want a permanent record.
