Calendar block — month view of upcoming events
The Calendar block renders a forward-looking month grid populated with every published event-typed article in your org. Visitors browse upcoming events at a glance and can pull each one into their own calendar in one click.
When the block appears in the picker:
The Calendar block only shows in the block-picker grid when your org has at least one article type named "Event" or "Events". If you don't see it, set up an event type first (Articles → Settings → Article types → create "Event" or "Events").
Adding it to a page:
1. Site editor → + Add Block → Calendar
2. Configure:
• Heading — e.g. "Upcoming Events" (default)
• Months to show ahead — 1, 2, 3, 6, or 12 months. Past dates are filtered out automatically; the calendar is always forward-looking.
3. Save
What visitors see:
• A month-by-month grid of cells
• Days with events show clickable pills coloured with your site's primary color
• "+ N more" appears when a single day has more than 2 events
• Today is outlined in your primary color so visitors orient quickly
Clicking an event opens a popup with:
• Event title and date/time (handles single-day, multi-day, and all-day correctly)
• Location (linked if you set a Map URL)
• Article summary
• Three action buttons:
– Google Calendar — opens calendar.google.com pre-filled with title, date, location, and summary
– Download .ics — generates a standards-compliant .ics file the visitor can open in Apple Calendar, Outlook, or any RFC 5545 client
– Article link — jumps to the full published article on your site
What gets pulled:
The block automatically pulls every article whose type is named "Event"/"Events", is published, and has at least one event date inside the lookahead window. No per-event configuration on the block — add an event in Articles, it appears here.
Tip: Pair the Calendar block with a Recent Articles block (set "Hide past events" to On) to surface the next 3-6 events as cards above the calendar grid.
