Designate and manage trustees
A trustee is a person you ask to act on your behalf inside one or more After Life domains.
To invite a trustee:
1. Trustees tab → "+ Invite trustee"
2. Enter their name and email
3. Pick the scopes they should have: subscriptions, orgs, data, care, memorial (any combination)
4. Optionally write them a short message explaining the role
5. Send
The trustee receives an email. They accept or decline from /me/afterlife → My Roles. Acceptance is logged and immutable.
You can change scopes or revoke a trustee at any time while you're alive — the change takes effect immediately. After the K-of-N attestation has fired (see the article on death attestation), the trustee list freezes; trustees can still decline, but new ones cannot be added.
**Trustee quorum.** Most destructive actions (account dissolution, data destruction, org transfer) require K-of-N attestation — at least K of your N trustees have to co-sign before the action enters the 30-day reversal window. Set K and N when you add trustees (default: ceil(N/2)).
