Trial Balance

The Trial Balance summarizes the total debits, total credits, and net balance for every account in your Chart of Accounts.

It only includes accounts with at least one posted journal entry, so newly seeded accounts with no activity will not appear.

How to read the Trial Balance:
• Debit total — all debit amounts posted to this account
• Credit total — all credit amounts posted to this account
• Balance — the net position (debit normal for assets/expenses; credit normal for liabilities/equity/revenue)
• A balanced ledger shows equal grand totals for all debits and all credits

The Trial Balance reflects all posted entries up to the current moment. Voided entries are excluded.

Use the Trial Balance to verify your books are in balance before running month-end reports. If the debits and credits don't match at the bottom, there may be a data issue — review recent journal entries for errors.
